Course Description

This workshop is an introduction to project management principles and practices, and a first step for those seeking PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. Students will learn and experience the basics of initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects. Topics include establishing a project team, identifying and validating requirements, defining project baselines, developing work breakdown structures, managing risk, and controlling projects through the use of earned value analysis. Students will participate in a variety of class exercises to enhance their understanding of project management processes.
